Wilfred Cecil Tye, a native of Harwich, Essex, attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 29 November 1914. He died of wounds on 31 May 1915, and is buried in Choques Military Cemetery, France.

Benjamin John Bloxham was born in Shoreditch, London, and attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps at London Fields, Hackney, London. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 30 November 1914, and was killed in action during the action at Givenchy on 27 January 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, France.

Thomas Beardsley was born in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and attested there for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He served with the 3rd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 1 April 1915, and died of wounds on 15 April 1915. He is buried in Ypres Town Cemetery Extension, Belgium, and is also commemorated on the Ilkeston War Memorial, Derbyshire.

Horace Chidlow was born in Walsall, Staffordshire, and attested as a pre-War regular in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He served with the 3rd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 21 December 1914, as part of 27th Division, and was killed in action during the Second Battle of Ypres on 25 May 1915. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
