William Innes was born in Colwall, Herefordshire, the son of Joseph and Mary Innes. He attested for the Army Service Corps at Worcester and served during the Great War with 594th MT Company, Army Service Corps in the French theatre of war. He died of wounds at No. 2 Casualty Clearing Station, aged 29 years, husband of Cicely Mary Innes, of 182, Norwood Rd., West Norwood, London. He is buried in Outtersteene Communal Cemetery Extension, Bailleul, France.
