Richmondshire Agriculture Society (Inst. 1778), a silver award medal by L. Pingo, un-named, 52mm (Eimer 56; cf. DNW 132, 1626); Calder Vale Agricultural Association (Est. 1839), a silver-gilt award medal by J. Sherriff, named (John Haigh Fuller, For the best Thoro’ Bred Stallion, 1853), 51mm (cf. Baldwin FPL 1999, 6-7) [2]. First fine, second good very fine but with reverse edge knock at 8 o’clock £80-100

John Haigh Fuller (1826-1900), b Terrington, Norfolk, was descended from an old Halifax family and is shown on the town’s 1871 and 1881 censuses; he died in San Francisco in July 1900
