Great Britain, Edward, Prince of Wales, c.1925, an important large bronze portait medal, unsigned, bust left, tablet in exergue impressed cameograph copyright, 195mm. Extremely fine and very rare; mounted in an attractive mahogany frame, a small brass oblong panel below ‘Reproduced by kind permission of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales on behalf of Earl Haig’s British Legion Appeal by the Cameograph Co. Ltd., 48 Pall Mall, S.W.’ in six lines (£300-500)

A great many portrait medals of Edward, Prince of Wales were struck in the 1920s and 1930s using this image. It is unknown whether this is the only example made, but no others are known to the cataloguers and it would appear to be unpublished. The Cameograph Co Ltd, of Pall Mall, London, and West 40th Street, New York, held their inaugural luncheon at the Savoy Hotel on 11 March 1924. lllustration reduced
