A late Victorian diamond set mourning brooch/pendant, the domed oval onyx panel supporting a floral spray motif set with graduated old brilliant and rose-cut diamonds, collet set within a mount with palmette detailed border highlighted with black enamel, with glazed hairwork panel verso, the mount inscribed to the reverse ‘James Whitehouse, Obt April 28th 1890’, in fitted case signed ‘Wm Wray & Son, 38 New St, Birmingham’, brooch length 58mm, total weight of old brilliant-cut diamonds approximately 3 carats. £3000-4000
