Malmsbury Volunteers Medal 1799, an oval engraved medal with twisted rope border, 74mm x 62mm, silver (no hallmarks), the obverse featuring the arms of the town, a castle with a pennant flying, ‘Malmsbury Volunteers’ around, the reverse inscribed ‘Won by Mr. John Peters. Best Shot at 300 Yards in the Malmsbury Volunteers. The Gift of the Officers May 24th. 1799.’, with twisted loop suspension, good very fine £200-240
