Military General Service 1793-1814, 7 clasps, Fuentes D’Onor, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, St. Sebastian, Nivelle, Orthes (A. Dufief, Lieut. Chas. Brit.) original ribbon, edge bruise, otherwise toned, nearly extremely fine and very rare £2200-2600

Only 8 medals believed to have been issued to this regiment.

Armand Casimir Gouin Dufief was appointed Ensign in the Chasseurs Brittaniques, from the Royal Jersey Militia, on 7 September 1809, and was promoted to Lieutenant on 18 October 1810. He served in the Peninsula from December 1810 to April 1814, including actions at Fuentes D’Onor, Morisco, Salamanca, Burgos, Vittoria, Pyrenees, St Sebastian and Bordeaux. He was slightly wounded in the Pyrenees on 30 July 1813, probably at the Donna Maria Pass. He was placed on half-pay on 28 June 1814, and is shown as such in the Army List through to 1865. Resident at St Helier, Jersey, he was in receipt of an annual allowance of £73 from 6 December 1814. His original commission in the Chasseurs Brittaniques together with his Will and Testament, dated 27 February 1852, wherein he requests to be buried in St Saviour’s Cemetery, are held in the Jersey Museum. He is believed to have died in 1865.

Services confirmed in Challis’s roll. Medal is not listed in the published rolls but first five clasps are confirmed by Challis and also in the official list of officer recipients published in the Army List.
