Leicestershire Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1878 - 1883, a very fine and scarce example with rounded front peak and complete with all plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel overlays enclosing a title circle ‘Leicestershire Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre on a ground of black patent leather a plated strung bugle horn, the plate is original to the helmet and supplied by ‘Hobson & Sons, London’, buff leather sweat band, the helmet also has an official lined ventilation circle behind the helmet plate, very good overall condition £400-600
