A Nineteenth Century Afghanistan Mameluke Type Sabre, the 76th cm curved blade with single fuller and 4.5 cm fighting point etched on both sides with various foliate panels, the badge for Afghanistan at the time and a small panel of native script, the brass cross guard heavily decorated and with two acorn style finials, two part wooden hand guard with brass decoration, together with its brass scabbard this complete with ornate chapes and carrying rings, the hand grip has been repaired with leather and a section of the finial missing, the narrow chain link hand guard missing and the bottom chape on the scabbard with a period strengthening brass section, the blade in good overall condition £140-240
