Wilson, 93rd Foot); Turkish Crimea, British issue (No. 1728 Robert Wilson HMs 93rd Highlanders) neatly plugged and fitted with Crimea-type suspension, good very fine or better (4) £1800-2200

Robert Wilson was born at Maybole and joined the 93rd Highlanders at Ayre in 1843, aged 18. He was discharged after 20 years’ service in 1864, having received his L.S. & G.C. medal in 1861-62.
