Khazan Singh served from the inception of the Indian Army Veterinary Corps on 14 December 1920, when numbers commenced for Indian other ranks at V 1000. Awarded his Meritorious Service Medal prior to the Second World War, he retired as a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, before being re-employed as a Jemadar on the active list from 6 May 1943, serving with the 21 Kohat Mountain Battery in Burma until 1945.

Kenneth Robert Hiscock was born in Agra, India, in 1911, the son of Sergeant Earnest Hiscock, Royal Field Artillery.

Atwar Singh was born in Ludhiana on 7 February 1911 and graduated from the Punjab Veterinary College, Lahore in 1934. He entered Government Service and served as a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in the Punjab. He was advanced Warrant Officer, 27 June 1941; a Viceroy Commissioned Officer on 1 November 1941, and was granted an Emergency Commission on 13 March 1944. He served during the Second World War with the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force in Persia from 4 February 1942 to 2 May 1943 and in The Arakan from 17 November 1943 to 18 March 1944. He retired on 7 February 1965.
