Sydney Prior Deayton, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment) was posted missing, later killed in action, at the battle of Mount Sorrel, 2 June 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
