Harold Fudge attested for the Royal Engineers at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and served with them during the Great War, being awarded the Military Medal whilst serving with ‘M’ Special Company, R.E., before transferring to the Royal Field Artillery with the rank of Corporal.
