George Loryman was born at Batley, York, a Weaver by trade. He was discharged on 6 July 1815, after serving 7 years 10 months, and was granted a late pension of 6 pence per day on 28 September 1852, being ‘wounded left leg at Badajoz & in left foot and right leg at Rodrigo’. He died at Bradford, Yorkshire, on 11 May 1860, being then aged 76 years and described as ‘out pensioner of Chelsea Hospital from 7th Regt. of Foot at 9d per diem’.
