Arthur Hobson was born on 9 March 1913 and attested for the Sherwood Foresters prior to the Second World War. He served with both the 1st and 2nd Battalions during the Second War, and saw further service in post-War Palestine. On leaving the Army he was employed by the Post Office and was awarded his Imperial Service Medal in 1963 whilst employed as a Technician Class I at Stoke on Trent (London Gazette 22 October 1963). He died on 26 March 1979.
Sold with Army Council enclosure for the Second War awards; the recipient’s National Registration Identity Card; an unopened packet of ‘Senior Service’ cigarettes, with pocket ashtray; a miniature photograph album; a small stamp album; and a large number of photographs and postcards.
