Royal Navy Sweetheart Badges, 2 hallmarked silver and enamel badges, the first depicting the battle cruiser H.M.S. Hood, the other depicting the light cruiser H.M.A.S. Sydney, both with pins for wear, good condition (2) £40-50

H.M.S. Hood was launched in 1920, the last battle cruiser commissioned by the Royal Navy, and for twenty years was the largest and most powerful warship in the world. She was sunk during the Second World War by the German battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen at the Battle of Denmark Straight, 24 May 1941, with the loss of all but 3 of her crew of 1,418.
H.M.A.S.
Sydney was launched in 1912 and saw action during the Great War, defeating the German cruiser S.M.S. Emden at the Battle of Cocos, 9 November 1914. She subsequently served as flagship of the Royal Australian Navy.
