Eager has no initial on his medal, or indeed listed on the S.A. 1877-79 Medal Roll. This is synonymous with a large percentage of recipients from the regiment. A ‘J. T. Eager’ is listed on the relevant roll for the Regiment as being entitled to the Cape of Good Hope General Service Medal with ‘Basutoland’ clasp.
