2nd Queen’s Dragoon Guards Officer’s 1847 Pattern Helmet, a good quality example, the gilt metal skull complete with all foliage mounts, correct pattern plume holder quadrant, frontal plate of crowned laurel and oak spray, a rococo shield this mounted with a silver hobnail cut star, gilt oval strap ‘Queen’s Dragoon Guards’ and a VR mount centre, chin chain of graded link format with leather lining, peaks with skiver lining (mostly absent on the front peak), leather sweat band silk lining missing, falling black horse hair plume with incorrect pattern rose finial, little gilt remains on the skull but otherwise sound and free from dents £800-1000
