Walter Ronald Buckler was born on 17 November 1911, and enlisted in the Royal Air Force on 27 January 1930. He served in pre-War Palestine, and then in the Second World War as a Balloon operator. Advanced Warrant Officer, he was discharged on medical ground on 10 October 1960, after over 30 years’ service.
