Leslie Victor Betenson was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Army Pay Corps, from the Officer Training Unit, on 29 August 1945. He was appointed Lieutenant and Paymaster on 1 March 1947, and was promoted Captain and Paymaster on 15 December 1957. He transferred to the Reserve of Officers on 1 May 1961.

Sold with the recipient’s riband bar and various Royal Army Pay Corps buttons; together with an unrelated 1939-45 Star; a National Safe Driving Competition Medal, silver and enamel, the reverse named ‘
C. E. Stovold’, with riband bars for 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, and 1942; and various other insignia.
