Ndunyana, who enlisted in the British South Africa Police in December 1942, was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal in January 1962. Also the recipient of a Rhodesia General Service Medal (Supplement to B.S.A. Police Orders 22.1.1970 refers), he retired in July 1971.
