The Royal Victorian Order, M.V.O., 4th class, Ladies breast badge in silver-gilt and enamels, the reverse officially numbered ‘27L’, mounted on bow and tails in its Collingwood case of issue; The Order of the British Empire, O.B.E. (Civil) 1st type Ladies breast badge, with Jubilee hallmark for London 1934-35, mounted on bow and tails in its Garrard & Co. Miss Vera de Gaury, O.B.E., was invested with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (Fourth Class) by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on 3 November 1952, on her retirement from the Lord Chamberlain’s Office after 35 years. She was only the third woman to be so honoured by the new Queen. Miss de Gaury subsequently married to become Mrs Collis. Sold with two news cuttings.
