Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Shilling, Gp C, mm. plume, bust 3, plume over shield, less ornate garniture, pellet stops both sides, 5.59g/2h (Sharp C3/5; SCBI Brooker 467, this coin; N 2222; S 2788). A piece of fine work from carefully engraved dies with guide lines within both inner and outer beaded circles, well-centred on a round flan, some light creasing, otherwise nearly very fine, extremely rare £1,000-1,200
