A Great War 1914 ‘Western Front’ D.C.M. awarded to Private A. D. Bloor, Manchester Regiment

Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.V.R. (9143 Pte. A. D. Bloor. 2/Manch: Regt.) toned, nearly extremely fine £700-£900

D.C.M. London Gazette 17 December 1914:
‘For notable gallantry on 20th October in rallying some 20 men of his platoon after they had lost their officer and taking them forward under heavy fire; and again on 26th October, when his officer and most of the non-commissioned officers were killed, he took command of the trench, and by his absolute coolness, prevented any ill-effects from the loss of the senior officers.’

Albert Daniel Bloor attested for the Manchester Regiment and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 15 August 1914.
