Joseph H. O’Hagan served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Irish Guards in the French theatre of war from 17 August 1915. The Battalion served as part of the 2nd Guards Brigade, Guards Division on the Somme, July - November 1916. O’Hagan was discharged 27 November 1917. He re-enlisted in the Labour Corps, and was discharged in July 1919.
