George Linter, who was born in Brighton, Sussex, enlisted in the Sussex Royal Garrison Artillery (T.F.) in August 1914, aged 21 years. He subsequently witnessed active service with 194th Siege Battery, R.G.A. in France and Flanders in the period September 1916 to June 1917, in which capacity he was awarded the M.M. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the R.G.A. in February 1918, Linter was finally demobilised in June 1919; sold with copied attestation and service papers.
