Alfred James Hemmett enlisted in the South Lancashire Regiment at London in December 1907. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion in the French theatre of war from 22 August 1914. Hemmett was discharged 29 December 1919.
Sold with the following original documentation: Discharge Certificate; Character Certificate; and Menu for a Dinner and Concert put on for ‘Officers, N.C.O’s and Men of the South Lancashire and West Yorkshire Regiments, at present patients in the King’s Lancs, Military Convalescent Hospital, Blackpool’, dated 13 November 1917.
