Frank Fawkes was a native of Hebburn-on-Tyne, County Durham. He served during the Great War with the 11th (Service) Battalion (Donegal and Fermanagh), Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in the French theatre of war from 5 October 1915. Fawkes subsequently transferred to the 9th (Service) Battalion (County Tyrone) and was killed in action on the Western Front, 15 October 1918.
Lance-Sergeant Fawkes is buried in the Dadizeele New British Cemetery, Moorslede, Belgium.
