S. Proctor was killed in action on 31 August 1918, while serving as a Gunner in 86th Battery, 32nd Brigade, R.F.A., aged 25 years. The London Gazette announcement for his M.M. lists his initials as ‘C. S.’ whilst his entry in the Commonwealth War Graves Register lists the single initial ‘S.’ He was the husband of Ellen Proctor of Albany Road, Brentford, Middlesex and is buried in Windmill British Cemetery, Moncy-le-Pre, France.
