Arthur H. Caudle attested for the Royal Warwickshire Regiment at Lingfield, and served with the 8th Battalion during the Great War both on the Western Front and in Italy, being Mentioned in Despatches for the latter theatre ‘for distinguished and gallant services and devotion to duty during the period February 26th to September 14th 1918’ (London Gazette 3 January 1919).
