India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1887-89 (1702 Pte. M. Bolger 2d. Bn. R. Muns. Fus.) minor edge bruise, good very fine £160-£200

Provenance: Chris Murphy Collection, Dix Noonan Webb, March 2000.

Martin Bolger was born in Holywell, Flintshire, in 1867, and attested for the Somerset Light Infantry at Liverpool on 17 September 1886. He transferred to the Royal Munster Fusiliers on 20 November 1888, and served with the 2nd Battalion in India and in Burma from that date. He was discharged on 17 January 1893, after 6 years and 123 days’ service.
