Geoffrey Briggs was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the South Staffordshire Regiment in June 1915. He advanced to Lieutenant in July 1917, and was attached to the Indian Army from September 1918. Briggs served with the 1st Brahmans in South Persia, and advanced to Captain in March 1920. He served as Captain (Reserve of Officers) Pioneer Corps, 1939-46.
