G. R. Cunnington served during the Boer War as a Gunner, Royal Marine Artillery in H.M.S. Monarch, and was wounded at Enslin on 25 November 1899. He subsequently served during the Great War with the South African Forces.
Sold with copied medal roll extract that states that the recipient was additionally entitled to the Modder River clasp; however, Fevyer and Wilson confirm that he was only entitled to the Belmont clasp.
