Neville Archibald Webb was born on 15 March 1898, and served with the Royal Garrison Artillery during the Great War in the Hedjaz theatre of War from 27 December 1915. He transferred to the Royal Field Artillery, with a new number, on 9 May 1918 and then saw further service with the Indian Army Ordnance Corps. Commissioned temporary Lieutenant (Assistant Commissary), Indian Army Ordnance Corps on 13 November 1941, he served with the I.A.O.C. during the Second World War, and was taken Prisoner of War by the Japanese at the fall of Singapore on 15 February 1942.
Sold with copied Medal Index Card (which states that a replacement 1914-15 Star was issued, and then returned by the recipient, stating that it was the British War Medal that he was not in possession of- thereby explaining the different naming on the BWM and VM); and various other research.
