Three: Private R. C. Livings, Bedfordshire Regiment, who died of wounds on the Western Front on 21 January 1916

1914-15 Star (17315 Pte. R. C. Livings. Bedf: R.); British War and Victory Medals (17315 Pte. R. C. Livings. Bedf. R.); Memorial Plaque (Robert Charles Livings) nearly extremely fine (4) £120-£160

Robert Charles Livings was born in Ardley, Hertfordshire, in 1895 and attested for the Bedfordshire Regiment at Hertford. He served with the 8th (Service) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 4 October 1915. On 20 January 1916 the battalion suffered 4 men wounded whilst on a carrying party near Burgomaster Farm- it is probable that Livings was one of these men, for he died of wounds the following day. He is buried in Poperinge New British Cemetery, Belgium.

Sold with an original Memorial Card; and copied Medal Index Card and other research, including various photographs of the recipient’s grave.
