John H. Hoad served with the Royal Engineers during the Great War, and subsequently with the East Sussex Special Constabulary.

Frederick Charles Imms was born in Lewes, Sussex, on 27 August 1887, and served in civilian life as a Police Constable. He attested for the Royal Marine Artillery on 1 March 1916, and served as a Gunner 2nd Class in H.M.S. Royal Sovereign from 2 January 1917. He was discharged on 6 March 1919.

George Alfred Cheale was born in Lewes, Sussex, in 1881, and attested there for the East Lancashire Regiment on 12 December 1915. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 19 September 1917, and was taken Prisoner of War on 11 April 1918 during the German Spring Offensive. He was repatriated on 26 November 1918, following the cessation of hostilities, and was discharged early the following year. He died in Lewes in 1956.
