Leonard Daniel was born on 25 May 1918 and attested for the Royal Signals on 13 June 1940, having previously been employed with the General Post Office. He served with them during the Second World War as a Wireless Operator, and was Mentioned in Despatches. He was released on 11 September 1946, and returned to his employment with the Post Office, being awarded the Imperial Service Medal on his retirement as an Overseer with the London Postal Region.
Sold with the recipient’s Mentioned in Despatches Certificate, in envelope; Certificate for the Imperial Service Medal, in envelope; the recipient’s Soldier’s Service and Pay Book; Soldier’s Release Book; and various War Office correspondence and enclosures regarding the M.I.D.
