Henry Edward Beaver was born in London on 15 April 1908, and served during the Second World War as a Cook in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve from 28 May 1941, serving overseas in India, Burma, and South East Asia from 17 July 1943 to 9 January 1945. He was discharged on 18 February 1946. Retiring to Camborne, Cornwall, in 1967, he was a long standing member of the Burma Star Association, and died on in September 2008, shortly after celebrating his 100th birthday.
Sold with the recipient's Soldier’s Service and Pay Book; Royal Air Force Service and Release Book; National Registration Identity Card; and two newspaper cuttings and two photographic images from the Parade in Truro to mark the 60th Anniversary of VE-Day in 2005, where Beaver, aged 97, was the oldest man on parade.
