Rex Travers was born in April 1914, and enlisted in the Royal Air Force in November 1938. He served as an Aircraft Fitter (Electrical) and advanced to Warrant Officer (awarded L.S. & G.C. in 1956). Travers was discharged 26 April 1969, having served for 30 years and 165 days with the R.A.F.
