Adam Pringle was born in Selkirk in 1882 and attested for the Electrical Engineers, Royal Engineers at London on 20 February 1902. He served with ‘E’ Company in South Africa during the Boer War from 18 March 1902, and was discharged in South Africa on 9 July of that year, after 140 days’ service.
