Samuel Williamson, a native of Co. Armagh, joined the Royal Irish Constabulary on 7 March 1888, aged 19, and was allocated to Donegal in October of that year. He transferred to Belfast in September 1895, to Wexford in June 1897, and to Monagahan in April 1898, and was promoted Acting Sergeant on 1 October 1902. He was dismissed from the Constabulary on 20 January 1904.
