Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (12533. Q.M.S. Sgt. R. Bryant. R.E.) suspension claw loose, very fine £70-£90
Richard Bryant was born in Windsor, Berkshire, and attested for the Royal Engineers as a Boy at Westminster in April 1874. He served as a Bugler before advancing to 2nd Corporal in February 1882. Bryant was promoted Quarter Master Sergeant in August 1891, and Sergeant Major in April 1904 (awarded L.S. & G.C. in October 1892). He was discharged, 9 April 1905, having served for 31 years.
