William George St. John Hussey initially served as a 3rd Class Assistant Surgeon on the North West Frontier 1897-98 (entitled to I.G.S. 1895-1902 with ‘Malakand 1897’ and ‘Tirah 1897-98’ clasps). He was mentioned in despatches (London Gazette 5 April 1898), and subsequently advanced to 1st Class Assistant Surgeon. Hussey was awarded the L.S. & G.C. with gratuity (Indian Army Order 130 of 29 March 1915).
