Amounderness Local Militia Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate c1808-1816. A very rae and fine quality example, the copper gilt rectangular back plate with rounded corners and gilt mounts comprising, a crowned strap, ‘Amounderness Local Militia’, in the centre the County Rose, below the strap two palm sprays, two hook and two stud fasteners. The reverse stamped with the supplier’s details, ‘R. Johnston 68 St. James’s St.’, very fine condition £800-£1,200
