George Graham was a native of Maryhill, Glasgow. He served during the Great War with the 1st Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) in the French theatre of war from 23 September 1914. Graham subsequently transferred to the 2nd Battalion, and served with them during the operations against the Kurdish chief Sheikh Mahmoud, March - June 1923.
