Charles Garrett was born in Islington, London. He served during the Great War with the 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment in the French theatre of war from 28 July 1915 (entitled to 1914-15 Star). Garrett died of wounds on the Western Front, 7 December 1917, and is buried in the Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manacourt, Somme, France.
Edward Henry Pott was born in Marylebone, Middlesex. He served during the Great War with the 7th (Service) Battalion, East Kent Regiment. Pott was killed in action on the Western Front, 3 May 1917. On the latter date the Battalion was engaged in an attack on Cherisy, during which they suffered casualties of 12 officers and 368 other ranks killed, wounded or missing.
Private Pott is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
Frank Reginald Birkill served during the Great War with the 11th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. He was killed in action on the Western Front, 7 June 1917. On the latter date the Battalion was engaged at Hill 60 on the first day of the Battle of Messines.
Private Birkill is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
