Volunteer Force Long Service Medal, E.VII.R. (89 Pte. R. Bunstone. 2/V.B. Welsh Regt.) lacquered, nearly extremely fine £30-£40
Richard Bunstone was born in Bridgend, Somerset, in 1871, and served with the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Welsh Regiment. Following the outbreak of the Great War he attested for the Royal Army Medical Corps (Territorial Force) at Cardiff on 7 June 1915, and served with them as a Staff Sergeant during the Great War on Home Service. He died at home of appendicitis on 14 October 1917, and is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Bridgend Cemetery, Somerset.
