Leonard Charles Schofield was born in May 1908, and enlisted in the Royal Air Force in March 1927. He was employed during the Second War as a balloon operator, before changing trades to a Motor Transport Controller. Schofield was awarded the L.S. & G.C. in March 1945, and the Second Award Bar in March 1963. He was discharged, 24 July 1963, having served 36 years and 128 days.
