China 1842 (Andrew Burns, Petty Offr., H.M.S. Harlequin) original suspension, very fine £500-£600
Andrew Burns was born in North Shields, Cumberland. He served as Captain of the Forecastle in H.M.S. Harlequin from 1841-44 and was then posted ashore. Later census extracts show him as a mariner, most likely with the Merchant Marine.
H.M.S. Harlequin was involved in the Storming and capture of City of Chin Keang Foo at the entrance of South Grand Canal in the Yang-Tse-Keang. Sold with copied medal roll entry and service details.
