M.S.M. London Gazette 16 October 1919:
‘In recognition of valuable services rendered with the Armies in France and Flanders.’

Thomas Alfred Barker attested for the Royal Field Artillery, and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 3 September 1915. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal whilst serving as a Wheeler with the Guards Division Ammunition Column, R.F.A., and his M.S.M. Card is additionally annotated ‘Gallantry’.
